Our assistance
Buildings hosting hydrogen activities are subject to compliance with the Environmental Code (ICPE) and the Labor Code (ATEX).
In this logic, H2TEAM carries out an inventory of the key regulatory and safety elements applicable to workshops housing hydrogen activities (tests, assembly, maintenance, repair). Through its studies, H2TEAM recommends technical and organizational arrangements to be implemented in a building.
Our methodology
Dans le cadre de nos études, nous mettons en place un accompagnement complet pour la mise en sécurité de bâtiments accueillant des activités hydrogène.

Step 1: Feasibility Study – GO/NO GO Audit
- Site visit or plan-based analysis: assessment of existing conditions, premises, current activities, and planned operations
- Preliminary regulatory assessment: applicable requirements (Environmental Code, Labour Code, Pressure Equipment Directive [PED], applicable standards)
- Preliminary budget estimation: hydrogen detection, fire detection, extraction systems, ATEX-compliant equipment

Step 2: Safety Adaptation Study and Industrial Risk Control Measures
- Risk analysis by activity: identification of operational phases, risk scoring, implementation of control measures, residual risk scoring
- ATEX studies: leak scenarios in case of failure, systems analysis, leak characterization, environmental impact assessment, ATEX zoning
- Safety improvement recommendations for the site - Technical and operational measures: workshop safety, procedures, personal protective equipment (PPE), staff training
- Preparation of the Explosion Protection Document (EPD – mandatory under the Labour Code)

Step 3: Support During Project Implementation
- Drafting of technical specifications for tendering
- Supplier / manufacturer consultation
- Technical support for implementation of safety equipment and construction follow-up (supplier workshops coordination)
- Assistance in drafting operational procedures based on risk analysis recommendations

Step 4: FAT/SAT
- On-site acceptance
- Update of the Explosion Protection Document (EPD – mandatory under the Labour Code)
